We are delighted to be working with the fine folk at Friends of ANCHOR to bring Christmas Silent Disco Tours to Aberdeen!
Ring out those jingle bells, we’re coming to Aberdeen to bring the city its first festive Silent Disco Adventure thanks to local cancer charity Friends of ANCHOR. We simply cannot wait to take to ramp up the Christmas spirit whilst raising lots of money for an amazing cause this season. We caught up with the charity’s fundraising coordinator Elena Aspe, to find out more…
“Here at Friends of ANCHOR we love Christmas, so we were really excited to be the chosen charity for the Aberdeen Christmas Village.
We were thinking about the best way to make the most of this fantastic opportunity – what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to bring the first festive silent disco walking tour to Aberdeen!
A few people in the fundraising office took part in a Silent Adventures tour at a hen do in St Andrews and loved it – we wanted to bring that to Aberdeen and put our own unique Friends of ANCHOR stamp on it. We were soon in touch with Chris O’Mara who heads up the Dundee Silent Adventures team and plans were in place to make our festive dream a reality.
As a charity we’re so grateful to have the support of Aberdeen Inspired, which is the city’s Business Improvement District and is responsible for the Christmas Village, which has been on the go now for five years and keeps getting bigger and better.
With the launch date for our silent disco adventure tour just a week away, we’re really looking to going live with the festive celebrations and we hope lots of Aberdonians – and visitors to the city! – will come and join us.
Our musical tours will be led by the pro team at Silent Adventures and they will be hard to miss – we’ll be at the Christmas Village every weekend from November 22 to December 22, singing and dancing to our favourite festive tunes around the village and the East end of the city.
We want everyone to join in our Christmas party, so we’ve hand-picked times that we hope will work for everyone – from those enjoying a family day out, to the groups and work parties who are out to kick-start their festive night out.
We’re thankful to all the organisations who have helped to make this possible – Aberdeen Inspired, Aberdeen City Council and Codonas – and of course we’re really excited to be working with Silent Adventures in Aberdeen for the first time.
A silent disco adventure is such a fun and unique way to get into the festive spirit and all those joining us will be doing their bit for a great cause as we continue to raise funds to support cancer and haematology patients in the North-east of Scotland. The charity’s administration costs are fully covered by Balmoral Group which means we can assure all our revellers that 100% of profits are invested directly into the charity.”
